( That had to be an understatement. )
The Destruction of Caamas, also known as the Caamas Incident, was a vicious attack on the planet Caamas perpetrated by the Galactic Empire.
Enlisting the aid of Bothan operatives on the ground, Palpatine had Caamas's planetary shields switched off, subjecting the world to a fiery bombardment from Star Destroyers.
The attack led to firestorms that lasted for years, finishing off the remaining plant life that survived the initial devastation. Surviving animal life was slowly killed off due to starvation or asphyxiation. Most of the Caamasi population were killed in the attack, with an estimated 200 survivors left alive after the bombardment.
The Emperor's Citadel, also known as Imperial Citadel, was located on the planet Byss, was a great black and red-tinted tower in the center of the throne city.
This great black and red-tinted tower contained the personal quarters and offices of Palpatine and his officials. The Emperor's throne room, cloning facilities which kept his collection of clone bodies, dark side Sith alchemical laboratories, the Great Hall, a war room, libraries filled with dark side tomes were also located within the Emperor's Citadel.
It was in this citadel on his throne world that Palpatine experimented on a wide range of life with his dark side powers, even sentient beings. There were also sublevel breeding facilities which birthed the deadly Chrysalide rancors. Elite Imperial Sovereign Protectors—the best of the Imperial Royal Guard—were also stationed at the Imperial Citadel. He kept his cloning facilities within the palace to make it easier and faster to resurrect himself when needed.
There were also a series of training rooms in the Palace compound where Palpatine trained his Dark Side Adepts and a few chosen Inquisitors. He also kept several Jedi and Sith holocrons which he had acquired.
Approximately four months after the Declaration of a New Order, the Ionite miners of Bandomeer refused to honor their contracts with the Galactic Empire. In order to teach them to treat the new government with respect, Emperor Palpatine ordered his apprentice, Darth Vader, to deal with the local resistance. The Imperial Army quickly overwhelmed the lightly armed miners and established control over the planet.
Secrets were not new to Jori'la. As a child, as a teenager, and now as a young adult, it seemed there was always something to be hidden. Whether it was her Force sensitivity, a handsome training partner who could best her as well as she could handily throw him on his rear, or the path she had chosen to walk in her life (that is to say, one of the Jedi), she kept her secrets and she kept them well. The patrons at the Tapcaf, even those who knew her fake name, didn't know that beneath her plain clothes she carried not only her mother's lightsaber, but a dangerous combat proficiency that she would use, she knew, in the very near future. They knew she was young, and that she had no interest in sabaac or drinking, only the Holonet broadcasts that lit up the walls above the bar on a daily basis. There were men who eyed her, but she was a Jedi: even if they didn't know it, she was - in theory - above love, above hate, and above desire. At least, that was what they taught her.
But watching the news feed from regarding what had happened to the Jedi conclave (the tapcafe near her resiplex always had the fastest updates), for a brief flicker there was anger and a kind of burning hatred in her heart. It wasn't right, she knew that, but she couldn't deny that it was there for just a fleeting moment. There was every chance that what was being broadcast was pure propaganda, but a part of her knew something had gone wrong; just the way anyone with a connection to the force knew, ultimately, that their brothers and sisters were so recently executed and buried in their graves. Quietly, she paid her tab and excused herself, making haste the handful of city blocks that were between the tapcafe and the apartment she shared with Rowan, who she assumed would be out, doing whatever it is he did when they were apart, though as she opened the door to the small apartment (literally, a tiny living area, a tiny bedroom with a pair of beds, and a tiny food prep area, with a nice view of the city proper) she couldn't resist calling for him just the same. "Rowan?"
The Battle of Kashyyyk was a conflict between the Wookiees and the Galactic Empire led by Lord Vader. It occurred after he tracked a group of surviving Jedi to the Wookiee homeworld of Kashyyyk. It was during this crisis that Vader made a deal with Moff Tarkin to capture Wookiees as slave labor to help build the Death Star. The battle itself was also seen as an early, but by no means the last, demonstration to the galaxy of how the Galactic Empire would respond to internal dissent.
Tarkin would later relate to Palpatine that the planet suffered much more damage than one would have expected, especially given the resources under Vader’s command. Nonetheless, Kashyyyk had been claimed by the Empire, and Tarkin—perhaps aided by Trandoshan slavers which descended onto the world in masses following the battle—had gained a valuable new source of slave labor for the Death Star project.
After Vader was drawn out to the Conclave on Kessel as an attempt by the Jedi to kill him and defeat the Sith, Palpatine immediately began circulating rumors about the event.
Palpatine: "A story is now spreading that you tracked down a nest of Jedi traitors — fifty in all — and killed them. Every last one. By yourself."
Vader: "But that's not true..."
Palpatine: "That does not matter. The lie will create a legend and the legend will drive any surviving Jedi deeper underground—and teach any other potential enemy fear. And that is useful!"
Upon his return to Coruscant, Vader's injuries were tended to and the damage to his armor repaired. Vader subsequently appeared before his master. Palpatine stated that while Vader had disobeyed him, Vader's disobedience proved to be useful. By the time of the meeting between the two, Palpatine had already caused circulation of rumors of what had occurred at Kessel, helping to cement Vader's image as a symbol of fear for the Empire, and a further warning to all who stood in his way. The official report by Sate Pestage stated that some of the Jedi had killed each other in a power struggle and the others were executed for numerous crimes.
SO BASICALLY: Anyone who regularly tunes into the holonet broadcasts, official Empire business, or just someone who has one ear to the ground about anything involving Jedi will have heard about the "massacre". Survivors were not mentioned and neither were those who showed up to aid Vader.
The Conclave on Kessel was a meeting of Jedi survivors of Order 66 within an abandoned mine on Kessel. After the execution of Order 66 and the beginning of the Great Jedi Purge, a number of Jedi secretly established contact with each other. Jedi Master Shadday Potkin was one of them.
Through her contacts she learned that Darth Vader desperately sought the whereabouts of Obi-Wan Kenobi, although she did not know why. She called for a meeting of Jedi in an abandoned spice mine on the planet Kessel, and leaked this to the Empire, including misinformation that Kenobi would be present, in the hopes that this would entice Vader to come quickly, heedlessly, and alone.
Several other Jedi answered the call. As they discussed their plans for the future of the Jedi, it quickly became apparent that they differed on what the proper course to take was.
[OOC: Any Jedi in game are welcome to answer the call for the meeting. It will take place on January 31st real time. Note that a unit of stormtroopers will appear midway through the battle when Vader arrives (Isobel and/or Sev'rance are welcome to attend). An "official" Galactic report will go out afterward stating the results.]
The Galactic Empire has been founded and changes are being made across the galaxy. Self-proclaimed Emperor Palpatine - with Darth Vader at his side - has begun asserting the Empire's power and presence throughout the galaxy. One of the first victims are the citizens of a Core World planet and member of the CIS: New Plympto.
Having discovered the destruction of the Jedi Order by the newly-established Galactic Empire, Jedi Master Dass Jennir returned to New Plympto to lead the Nosaurian separatists against the Imperial forces who had threatened them with retaliation.
At 2100 hours local time, on the one thousand, eighty-ninth day of the Clone Wars, Palpatine retired to his private office in the Republic Executive Building, activated his comm unit and, with much relish, issued the command for which the Sith had spent a thousand years waiting: “Execute Order 66”, thinking to himself that his only regret was that he couldn't be there personally to watch them die. He employed a channel that would make the authenticity of the order unquestionable, but ironically, the signal was encrypted using a Separatist code – one of the rare giveaways that he was in fact the hidden hand behind both sides of the war.
The Clone Wars are over. The Republic is dead. Former Supreme Chancellor Palpatine is now Emperor Palpatine. In a few swift moments, the entire galaxy has been turned on its head. The CIS has been defeated and everything is changing.
On battlefields across the galaxy, Jedi are being betrayed and slaughtered by their Clone Troopers. On the remote planet Mustafar, Darth Vader (formerly Anakin Skywalker) has been pitted against his former Master, Obi-Wan Kenobi and come out the loser. The Emperor has retrieved the battered and beaten body of Vader in order to repair him and elsewhere, Vader's wife, Senator Padmé Amidala has gone into labor.
The Jedi Temple is burning and Jedi are dying. This is rise of the Empire.
